Lessons Learned
“ thought Strategically”
In this example the purpose was to gather the optimum information required to develop semipermanent objectives. This exercise was beneficial in understanding the importance of having goodness information in order to formulate long-term objectives. The “Thinking Strategically” simulation helped me learn how to create long-term objectives that be measurable while accomplishing the strategy. Once the long-term objectives were identified, SWOT outline was used to identify the company’s strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. The Matched Pair abstract tool was used to identify strategies that achieve the long-term objectives and was reusable in generating more alternatives. Strategic thinking is a hardening for action based on grocery realities, organizational competencies, and nock equities supported by long-term objectives, strategic flexibility, and the need to verification ahead of change (TS, 2009).
“Developing Grand Strategies”
In this simulation about Oz!, the toy manufacturer, I learned it is important to ready your strategy in retort to changes in internal and impertinent conditions of a business.



Proper adjustment of the strategy will spare the company to retain its competitive position. Having an understanding of the company’s competitive position and market growth will leave behind the company to determine an appropriate strategy in response to changing conditions. Appropriate selection of a business strategy will allow the company to remain competitive in its industry. The Grand Strategy Clusters matrix was powerful in analyzing which strategies were applicable to the situation the company was facing with its competitive position and market growth.
