The stories The Scarlet Ibis and The boon of the Magi generate similar themes. The theme to The Scarlet Ibis is it is never known how oftentimes you love someone until that person is gone. The author, James Hurst, showed that the narrator love his brother by saying: For a long, long time, it seemed equal forever; I lay there crying, sheltering my fallen cherry ibis from the heresy of the rain.(Hurst 604). In the story, the narrator got his brother, Doodle, to walk and he alikek it too far because he started to get Doodle to jog. Because of the narrator fetching it to far, Doodle died under a tree in a rainstorm. In a similar way, the message in The represent of the Magi is people make great sacrifices for the people they love. The author of this story, O.
Henry, shows how lots the married couple loves each other by position this in the story: Something fine and r be and sterling, something just a little bit near to beingness worthy of being owned by Jim (Henry 153). Jim and Della gave up their most precious possessions to sully each other a gift for Christmas. The two themes are a lot alike because they are both nearly one person loving another person.
