Like most institutions in a world of change, new forms of constitute, technology, and learning are influencing the antique practice of mentoring. Mentoring is typically defined as a race between an experienced and a less experienced soulfulness in which the mentor provides guidance, advice, support, and feedback to the protégé. Mentoring is a way to serve new employees learn about organisational culture, to facilitate private and career growth and development, and to expand opportunities for those traditionally hampered by organizational barriers, such as women and minorities. The benefits of mentoring are not only work related; it can provide individuals with opportunities to enhance cultural awareness, aesthetical appreciation, and the potential to lead meaningful lives.
With the development of the much native and less formal organizational structures the role of mentors has shifted with these changes. Previously mentors where seen as formal trainers who taught newcomers the processes and got them acquainted with the cultures, which required good interpersonal skills and a good knowledge of the activity or tasks the mentee would drive home to undertake.



As opposed to more recently where a mentor would have to be more of an emotional counselor and demonstrate more skills than were traditionally required from mentors in the past, such as cosmos emotionally sensitive and sometimes employing diversity mentoring and culture mentoring skills.
